The Managing Director of Maku Free Zone said: Pardis of Azerbaijan to construct a Petrochemical unit in Poldasht
CEO of Maku Free Zone Organization informed
about the construction of Azerbaijani petrochemical complex in Poldasht.
According to Public Relations of Maku Free Zone, Hossein Froozan, CEO of Maku free
zone, referring to potentials of this project and that it could revolutionize
the future of this region announced: This complex is capable of producing
methanol out of natural gas and changing it into propylene, ethylene,
polypropylene, ethylene glycol and its other derivatives.
He added: This complex is able to produce 400 thousand
tons of polypropylene, more than 250 thousand tons of ethylene and changing it
into more than 400 thousand tons polypropylene and 400 thousand tons ethylene
glycol in a year.
Froozan, referring to the many uses
of these products in different industrial areas stated: Polypropylene does not
have an alternative and can replace many of the polymeric materials and this
creates high added value and prevents the sale of polypropylene and ethylene as
According to Managing Director of
Maku Free Zone, top advantages of this plan as well as closer target markets
will create sustainable job vacancies in the free zone. Proximity to the source
of raw materials, access to the international road and rail and the creation of
direct and indirect employment chances for about 14 thousand people, are some
of the benefits that the project will have. Chairman
of Maku free zone organization on initial measures of the construction of this
complex said: Now the problem of land and water allocation for this project has
been solved and we are lobbying for the allocation of gas and we hope that
given the importance of this project to the economy of the region and the
country, this problem also will be resolved as soon as possible.

first phase of this project 500 million dollars and on the final phase 3
billion dollars will be invested.
