According to public relations and
foreign affairs of Maku free zone organization, Hossein Froozan stating that
Maku free zone is effective on both economic and development aspects, said:
Construction of airport,
transit terminals, widening roads, streets, establishing parks and
international exhibitions are among the many measurements of this organization
to develop the zone.
Stating that the Free Zone’ Customs
in implementing Article 12 of the Customs Act assists Iran’s national customs,
he pointed out: With mutual cooperation we can increase the amount of transit
in this zone.
CEO of Maku Free Zone said that,
annually 300 thousand trucks traffic across the Bazergan border and pointed
out: By opening the biggest export terminal of Maku free zone which occupies
more than 120000sqm that includes office building, health, welfare, weighing scales, loading and
unloading facilities, 10 thousand square meters of indoor warehouse and two
thousand square meters hangar with fire extinguishing system and this will be a
big change in the loading and unloading and transportation system in this zone.

Transportation and Terminals Department in West Azerbaijan said: Bazargan border is one the most
important land borders among 23 borders and this border is an only gateway to
European markets that is important in every respect.
