Developing Knowledge-based Agriculture by Establishing Specialized Workgroups in Maku Free Zone
agricultural sector, as one of the most important parts of the infrastructure of the regional economy, needs more attention than ever.

A joint meeting of the heads of agriculture, animal husbandry and natural resources with the participation of the Managing Director of  Maku Free Zone Organization and the Director General of Agricultural Organization of West Azerbaijan, was held in Maku Free Zone Organization Hall.

Establishing modern knowledge-based agricultural development teams and specialized teams focused on new areas of cultivation, were among decisions made in Maku Free Zone.

Managing director of Maku Free Zone Organization, Gholamreza Soleimani, said: agricultural sector, as one of the most important parts of the infrastructure of the regional economy, needs more attention than ever.

Dr. Soleimani, pointing out that using the world's expertise and knowledge in managing agricultural sector is the most important concern of the authorities, added: Agriculture is a set of economic activities that includes several sciences that teach us how to use the human and natural resources of the country in a sustainable way, while protecting the natural environment, and provide the healthy food of the country.

In recent years the field of agricultural research has been effective and these scientific achievements should be put into practice and its effects on water-efficient management and the region's cultivation pattern will be tangible, the CEOsaid.
