Managing Director of Maku Free Zone Organization: The Expansion of the Relations between Maku Free Zone and Guangzhou Free Zone in China, Is Provided

Managing director of Maku Free Zone Organization called for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Maku and Guangzhou free zones in the fields of logistics and joint production, and added that the basis for expansion of the relations between the free zones of Maku and Guangzhou of China has been provided and we have a strong will to strengthen and expand relations with China.

According to Maku Free Zone News Agency, at the joint meeting of the Managing Director of Maku Free Zone Organization; Economic activists of West Azerbaijan and Governor of West Azerbaijan with the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, China; Gholamreza Soleimani added: "If we want to attract investment, all the executive agencies and the provincial offices should cooperate and have synergy.

Referring to the construction of a 500-hectare logistics village in Bazargan, he added: In the second phase, we are looking for providing smart logistics to optimize and synchronize distribution routes to support transportation, storage and warehousing processes.

He pointed out that for sustainable economic development we need to have integrity in all processes of production from raw materials to final consumers, said: Supply chain management, as an integrated approach for the proper management of materials and goods, information and money flow, is developed in Maku Free Zone.

Maku Free Zone can become a logistics hub for the Chinese

Managing director of Maku Free Zone Organization, saying that China is among the first countries willing to invest in Maku Free Zone, stated: Maku Free Zone can be a logistics hub for communication with the Black Sea countries.

Referring to the capacities and infrastructure available in Maku Free Zone, he said: The water and fertile land, along with capacities such as transit road, airport, gas pipeline, and workforce have distinguished this zone from other regions.

Soleimani announced the establishment of an Accelerator Center in Maku Free Zone and said: We are aiming to create a technology town in the zone, and we have prepared ICT and fiber optic infrastructure, and we believe we should not sell electricity to other countries, but it should be converted into Data and then be exported.

Pointing out that Maku Free Zone is located along the North-South Corridor and the Silk Road, he emphasized: By utilizing joint transportation with China, it will be possible to transfer trade goods to different parts of Asia and Europe in a shorter time.
