Maku Free Zone in the north of West Azerbaijan has a special capacity to develop economic relations with China, and the authorities of the two sides are seeking to strengthen these relations.
Maku free zone due to its geographical location, is the economic hub and communication link among the countries of the region, and if a proper relationship between Maku Free Zone in Iran and Guangzhou Free Zone in China is established, the capacities of West Azerbaijan will be optimized for economic development, Khalil Shirgholami, the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, China said.
Khalil Shirgholami in an economic meeting in West Azerbaijan referring that China is looking for specific geographic locations for trade development, added: Maku Free Zone in north of West Azerbaijan has a special capacity to develop economic relations with China, and the authorities of the two sides are seeking to strengthen these relations.
The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, China, added: The sister city plan between a southern province of China and West Azerbaijan is also on the agenda to increase the business and joint projects relations in various cultural, tourism, commercial and economic fields.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is also rich in nuts and dried fruits, and we are trying to facilitate the export of these products to China" Shirgholami said.
China has progressed in three indices of supplying capital, supplying the market, and using advanced technology, and the private sector of Iran has to attempt to attract capital from China and develop its market.
He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran's Innovation Office was established in China in order to transfer and commercialize domestic technology.
By commercialization of technology, it can be connected to different markets, and this is a huge capacity for the development of domestic technologies, he added.
